Mr. Edwin (Eddie) James Thesen is a qualified artisan who embarked on a career as a Social Services Professional. His interests in social development started in 1997 when engaging young people living on the streets of central Cape Town.
Eddie, a Master Trainer, Assessor and Moderator, pursued this interest which resulted in a B-Tech in Child and Youth Development from UNISA. Maintaining this focus, Eddie went on to complete a master’s degree in children and Family Studies at the University of the Western Cape. He has always been cognizant of the importance of development, and the impact one person can have on another.
This thought has driven his work and intervention with colleagues and learners over the past decade. Eddie has extensive experience in curriculum development with the HWSETA and the QCTO. He has also participated in the development of the curriculum for a Child and Youth Care Work degree course in with the University of the Western Cape. Eddie is regarded as a subject matter expert in the field of Child and Youth Care Work.
